Our vision:

To ensure people with physical disabilities and injuries remain active and mobile to their best potential, fulfilling their life goals.

Our mission:

To assess, make and fit superior quality prostheses and orthoses to improve the quality of life for those with physical disabilities or injuries, providing a timely, caring and local service.

Albury Prosthetics and Orthotics Service (APOS) has been providing local prosthetic and orthotic services since 1986. Based in Lavington, we service the Albury-Wodonga region as well as Wagga Wagga and surrounding districts with regular clinics held at Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital. Our clients come from the west beyond Hillston, from the north as far as Parkes, east into the hills beyond Corryong and Tumut, and from the Benalla area in the south.

APOS has strong working relationships with public and private hospitals in the area, providing both acute and complex orthotics services, as well as inpatient prosthetic care, in both Wodonga and Wagga Wagga. We also support major hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne by co-ordinating access to ongoing care locally for our residents.

As an extension to our orthotics service, we conduct a regular custom footwear clinic with the help of a visiting surgical bootmaker at our Lavington site. This allows us to deliver more complete care for clients with severe foot deformities who are not able to use standard footwear.

APOS is part of EnableNSW, a state-wide service responsible for providing aids and equipment to people with chronic health conditions or disability, to assist them with mobility, communication and self-care.
